It’s another Thursday, and my heart is filled with things I love. You may or may not notice that many of these things seem to involve consumerism or possibly even stress eating. I just want to throw it out there that I had a rough start to my week, which resulted in a lot of Netflix-in-bed-avoiding-Spring-cleaning and painting my nails nights.
1. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Foundation, Too Faced Primed and Poreless
I was given some samples of this foundation awhile ago and had meant to pick up a full size awhile ago. However, I was still grasping onto my doll bills with a tight fist and totally cheaping out and using E.L.F instead once I finished my samples. EVERYTHING CHANGED on Monday though, when I realized I had left the entirety of my current makeup rotation three hours away, and wouldn’t retrieve it for an unfathomably long time (a week and a half. GASP). So, I toted myself over to Sephora and purchased some. I also picked up a sample of Too-Faced’s Primed and Poreless, which also happens to be a vegan thing. With this combination, my foundation coverage seriously feels flawless, and it seems to last me through the whole day without reapplication, sans setting powder. Loooooove it! Yay cruelty free cosmetics!
2. Owly Cupcakes
It was a friend’s birthday recently and I finally took a break from admiring all the owl cake cuties on Pinterest to actually make some! These are vanilla cupcakes, topped with golden oreo type cookies (I laboriously untwisted each and every oreo to get just the white creamy part showing), chocolate chips, an orange skittle, and toasted coconut for owly feathers! This is a picture my pal took of the little owlies just looking up at us scared to be eaten, but I did anyways because I love cake and I’m kind of a monster.
3. BEING AN ALMOST VEGANBUSINESS OWNER
Seriously. I know I’ve touched on this a few times, but I’ve finally drafted my business plan and am waiting to do revisions. This is honestly the first time I have had the courage to finish anything in a long time. Since I finished a University degree I didn’t really want. It’s going to be a long road to get where I want to, but I have already been thrown a few obstacles and am trying to accept them the best I can. They’re just little tests. Sometimes tests where the answer is shovelling comfort food into my face and watching Adam Sandler movies, but I’m not mad. Check out my website for Blue Rose Baking Co. that I’ve been building all week!
Oh whaaaat?! You wondered where my beautiful logo came from because you are wanting one yourself? Well, so long as you don’t steal mine exactly, I’ll let you in on my secret, for those who have asked! It actually came from my remarkably talented younger brother who was born with all the tech-savvy brains in the family. Even if he wasn’t my brother, I would be blown away by his awesomeness. He has created a beautiful logo for me which I feel perfectly reflects my brand. He is also ridiculously patient with me even when I have ALL the questions, and I am so so so so pleased with it. You should go check out his website, or follow him on Twitter. He is also a vegetarian and we eat a lot of vegan pizza which I also love.
5. Cute Leggings and Legging Weather, Generally
Alberta is melting and I couldn’t be more pleased. NOW I CAN WEAR JUST ONE PAIR OF LEGGINGS IN PUBLIC INSTEAD OF JUST ONE. These are my current favourite alongside a selfie of my silly face.
There you have it friends! All the things that I love this Thursday. Well, perhaps I am forgetting one or two things, but I’m okay with it. Hope everyone has a great Thursday and a rad weekend! Positive mental attitudes and high fives!
